Sañjaya said: “With a mighty roar of chariots he made the surface of the earth resound; like thunderclouds at the close of the hot season, he indeed caused all ten directions to echo.”

The verse highlights how overwhelming martial power and display can shake the world around it; ethically, it serves as a reminder that war’s force is not merely physical but also psychological, spreading fear and awe across all quarters.
Sañjaya describes a warrior’s advance or maneuver in battle: the thunderous rumble of chariots makes the earth and all directions reverberate, compared to monsoon-like thunder at the end of summer.
