tān dṛṣṭvā cukrudhe bhīmo jagṛhe bhārasādhanān
Sañjaya said: Seeing them, Bhīma flared up in wrath and seized his heavy weapons—readying himself to answer violence with force in the grim demands of the battlefield.

The verse highlights how intense emotion—especially anger—can immediately translate into action in war; it implicitly warns that krodha drives escalation, even when a warrior feels compelled by kṣatriya-duty to respond with force.
Sañjaya reports that Bhīma, upon seeing the opposing side (or a threatening situation), becomes enraged and physically takes up heavy weapons, signaling his readiness to engage in combat.
