अमोघशक्तिव्यंसनप्रश्नः — Why Karṇa’s Śakti Was Not Used on Arjuna

तमापततन्तं सम्प्रेक्ष्य पाण्डवानां महारथम्‌ | विव्याध दशभिर्बाणै: सर्वपारशवै: शितै:,पाण्डवपक्षके उन महारथी वीरको आते देख आचार्यने सम्पूर्णतः लोहेके बने हुए दस पैने बाणोंसे उन्हें घायल कर दिया

Transliteration

tam āpatatantaṃ samprekṣya pāṇḍavānāṃ mahāratham | vivyādha daśabhir bāṇaiḥ sarvapāraśavaiḥ śitaiḥ ||

Translation

Sañjaya said: Seeing that great chariot-warrior of the Pāṇḍavas rushing forward, the Ācārya struck him with ten sharp arrows, all wholly of iron. In the relentless ethics of battlefield duty, the teacher-warrior responds not with hesitation but with precise force, meeting an oncoming threat according to kṣatriya warfare norms.
