Dhṛtarāṣṭra said: “And when Duryodhana spoke to Droṇa in the assembly of the Kurus in that manner, what further reply did Droṇa give him? Tell me that, Sañjaya.”
धृतराष्ट उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical weight of counsel in wartime: rulers and commanders are shaped by what is said in council, and Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s questioning underscores how responsibility is traced through advice, responses, and decisions—not merely through battlefield outcomes.
Dhṛtarāṣṭra asks Sañjaya to report what Droṇa said in response to Duryodhana’s remarks in the Kuru assembly, seeking the exact content and implication of Droṇa’s reply as events in the war unfold.
