अध्याय १४६ — निशायां सात्यकिदुर्योधनयुद्धम् / Chapter 146 — Night Battle: Sātyaki and Duryodhana; Śakuni’s Encirclement of Arjuna
पुरूरवस आयुस्तु आयुषो नहुष: सुतः । नहुषस्य ययातिस्तु राजा देवर्षिसम्मत:,पुरूरवाके पुत्र आयु और आयुके पुत्र नहुष हुए। नहुषके राजा ययाति हुए, जिनका देवताओं तथा ऋषियोंमें भी बड़ा आदर था
sañjaya uvāca |
purūravāḥ āyuḥ tu āyuṣaḥ nahuṣaḥ sutaḥ |
nahuṣasya yayātiḥ tu rājā devarṣi-sammataḥ ||
Sañjaya said: From Purūravas was born Āyu; and from Āyu was born Nahuṣa. From Nahuṣa came King Yayāti, a ruler held in high esteem by the gods and the seers. The lineage is recalled to ground the present account in a venerable royal tradition, where legitimacy is measured not merely by power but by recognition from the wise and the divine.
