Sañjaya said: They do not slight those who are capable and strong, and they raise up the poor and distressed. Ever devoted to the gods, self-controlled, they act as protectors of others and remain free from boastful self-praise—thus are those Vṛṣṇi heroes described in their conduct.
संजय उवाच
True strength is shown through dharmic conduct: respecting worthy persons, uplifting the distressed, remaining devoted and self-controlled, and protecting others without arrogance or self-advertisement.
In the Drona Parva setting, Sañjaya characterizes the Vṛṣṇi warriors by their ethical qualities—how they treat others and how they restrain themselves—framing them as protectors whose power is guided by devotion and humility.
