Droṇa Encircled at Night: Coalition Advance and Battlefield Omens (द्रोणपर्यावरणं रात्रियुद्धवर्णनम्)
वध्यमाना महाराज पुत्रास्तव बलीयसा । भीम॑ प्रहरतां श्रेष्ठ समन््तात् पर्यवारयन्,महाराज! अत्यन्त बलवान् भीमसेनके बाणोंसे घायल होते हुए आपके पुत्रोंने योद्धाओंमें श्रेष्ठ भीमसेनको फिर चारों ओरसे घेर लिया
vadhyamānā mahārāja putrās tava balīyasā | bhīmaṁ praharatāṁ śreṣṭha samantāt paryavārayan ||
Sañjaya said: “O King, though your sons were being struck down and wounded by the mighty Bhīma, they nevertheless surrounded Bhīmasena—the foremost among those who smite—on all sides.” The verse highlights the grim ethic of battlefield resolve: even under severe injury, the Kauravas persist in collective resistance, choosing solidarity in combat over retreat.
