Droṇa Encircled at Night: Coalition Advance and Battlefield Omens (द्रोणपर्यावरणं रात्रियुद्धवर्णनम्)
विप्रै: कृतस्वस्त्ययनो विजयोत्पादसूचित: । पश्यन्नेवात्मनो बुद्धिं विजयानन्दकारिणीम्,उस समय ब्राह्मणोंने स्वस्तिवाचन किया, जिससे विजय-लाभ सूचित होता था। उन्हें अपनी बुद्धि विजयानन्दका अनुभव करती-सी दिखायी दी
sañjaya uvāca | vipraiḥ kṛtasvastyayano vijayotpādasūcitaḥ | paśyann evātmano buddhiṃ vijayānandakāriṇīm |
Sanjaya said: The brahmins performed auspicious benedictions, rites that were taken as omens foretelling the gaining of victory. As he watched, he seemed to perceive within himself a resolve—his own intelligence appearing to generate the gladness of anticipated triumph, revealing how ritual signs and inner conviction can feed the moral and psychological momentum of war.
