Sañjaya said: “Know him to be that tiger among men—Sātyaki of the Sātvata line, a great chariot-warrior. That foremost of great warriors has gone after your younger brother, following close behind him.”

The verse highlights the ethical ideal of steadfast loyalty in battle: an ally of proven valor (Sātyaki) deliberately follows and supports Arjuna, embodying kṣatriya duty through protection of comrades and unwavering commitment amid danger.
Sañjaya informs Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the great warrior Sātyaki—renowned among the Sātvatas—has identified Arjuna’s movement and is riding after him, staying close behind to assist him in the unfolding combat situation.
