दृष्टवा दुःशासनं राजा तथा शरशताचितम्‌

Transliteration

dṛṣṭvā duḥśāsanaṃ rājā tathā śaraśatācitam

Translation

Sañjaya said: Seeing Duḥśāsana—so covered and heaped with hundreds of arrows—the king was struck by the grim reality of war’s consequences, as the sight of a fallen kinsman exposed the moral cost of rage and wrongdoing on the battlefield.
