उपावत्ताश्न पीताश्न पुनर्युज्यन्तु मे रथे । “इसलिये उत्तम लक्षणोंसे सम्पन्न श्रेष्ठ घोड़े, जो विश्राम कर चुके हों, जिन्हें ट॒हलाया गया हो और पानी भी पिला दिया गया हो, पुनः मेरे रथमें जोते जायूँ

Transliteration

upāvattāśna pītāśna punaryujyantu me rathe |

Translation

Sanjaya said: “Let my horses be yoked again to the chariot—those of excellent marks, who have already been rested, walked about, and given water.” In the grim rhythm of war, the line underscores disciplined care for one’s dependents (even animals) before returning to action, reflecting a warrior’s responsibility amid violence.
