Droṇa-parva Adhyāya 114 — Karṇa–Bhīmasena Missile Exchange, Disarmament, and Arjuna’s Intervention
आनम्ेते पुरा राज॑स्तव कर्मकरा दृढम्
ānamete purā rājas tava karmakarā dṛḍham
Sañjaya said: “Formerly, O King, your servants (those who worked under your authority) were firmly devoted—steadfast in carrying out your commands.”
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical ideal of steadfast duty and loyalty within a kingdom—service performed with firmness and commitment to rightful authority.
Sañjaya addresses Dhṛtarāṣṭra and recalls an earlier time when the king’s attendants and workers were obedient and resolute, contrasting past order with the present turmoil of war.
