Adhyāya 113: Karṇa–Bhīma Śaravarṣa and the Battlefield Aftermath (कर्णभीमशरवर्षः)
कुरु त्वमात्मनो गुप्तिं कस्ते गोप्ता गते मयि
kuru tvam ātmano guptiṃ kas te goptā gate mayi
Sañjaya said: “Do you yourself take care to safeguard your own life and well-being; for when I am gone, who will remain to protect you?”
संजय उवाच
Personal responsibility in crisis: one should not rely solely on a single protector or adviser, because human support is uncertain; prudent self-guarding and preparedness are part of one’s duty.
Sañjaya, speaking to the king, urges him to secure his own safety and interests, warning that if Sañjaya is absent or lost, the king may have no one left to protect or guide him amid the turmoil of war.
