Yudhiṣṭhira said: “O Mādhava, in such a crushing and dreadful press of battle as this, there is none other but you who can stand in the war as the protector of victory—none other fit to aid and guard Arjuna.”
युधिष्ठिर उवाच
In extreme moral and physical crisis, rightful action (dharma in war) requires competent guidance and protection; Yudhiṣṭhira affirms that Kṛṣṇa alone can safeguard the cause of victory by rightly directing and protecting Arjuna amid overwhelming violence.
During the fierce fighting of Droṇa Parva, Yudhiṣṭhira addresses Kṛṣṇa as Mādhava, stressing that in the present terrible press of battle there is no one besides Kṛṣṇa capable of serving as the battlefield guardian of victory—implicitly, the indispensable protector and ally of Arjuna.
