ततस्तु तुमुलस्तेषां संग्रामो<वर्तताद्भुत: । पज्चालानां कुरूणां च घोरो देवासुरोपम:,तदनन्तर उन पांचालों और कौरवोंमें घोर देवासुर-संग्रामके समान अद्भुत एवं भयंकर युद्ध होने लगा
tatas tu tumulas teṣāṁ saṅgrāmo ’vartatādbhutaḥ | pāñcālānāṁ kurūṇāṁ ca ghoro devāsuro’pamaḥ ||
Sañjaya said: Then, between the Pāñcālas and the Kurus, a tumultuous battle arose—marvellous in its scale yet dreadful—like the legendary clash of gods and demons.
