भीष्मस्य भीमसेन-निरोधः

Bhīṣma checks Bhīmasena; matched engagements intensify

शृणु भूयो यथातत्त्वं यन्मां त्वं परिपृच्छसि । कारणं भरतमश्रेष्ठ पाण्डवानां जयं प्रति

śṛṇu bhūyo yathātattvaṃ yan māṃ tvaṃ paripṛcchasi | kāraṇaṃ bharataśreṣṭha pāṇḍavānāṃ jayaṃ prati ||

Sañjaya said: “Listen again, exactly as it truly is, to what you are asking me. O best of the Bharatas, I shall tell you the reason that bears upon the Pāṇḍavas’ victory.”
