Educational Q&A

Even in righteous warfare, dharma requires humility and reverence: Yudhiṣṭhira seeks the elder’s consent and blessings before engaging him, acknowledging moral gravity and the primacy of respectful conduct over personal enmity.

On the eve of battle, Yudhiṣṭhira approaches the formidable grandsire Bhīṣma and formally asks leave, stating that the Pāṇḍavas must fight him, and requests permission and blessings to proceed.
