वासुदेवश्च भगवान् पृष्ठतोडनुजगाम तम् । तथा मुख्याश्न राजानस्तच्चित्ता जग्मुरुत्सुका:,कुन्तीपुत्र धनंजय उन्हें शत्रु-सेनाकी ओर जाते देख तुरंत रथसे उतर पड़े और भाइयोंसहित उनके पीछे-पीछे जाने लगे। भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण भी उनके पीछे गये तथा उन्हींमें चित्त लगाये रहनेवाले प्रधान-प्रधान राजा भी उत्सुक होकर उनके साथ गये

vāsudevaś ca bhagavān pṛṣṭhato 'nujagāma tam |
tathā mukhyāś ca rājānas tac-cittā jagmur utsukāḥ ||
Sañjaya said: The Blessed Lord Vāsudeva followed him from behind. Likewise, the foremost kings—their minds fixed upon him—went along eagerly.
