भीष्मविक्रमदर्शनं तथा क्रौञ्चारुणव्यूहविधानम् | Bhīṣma’s Ascendancy and the Organization of the Krauñcāruṇa Formation
मच्चित्त: सर्वदुर्गाणि मत्प्रसादात् तरिष्यसि । अथ चेत् त्वमहंकारान्न श्रोष्यसि विनड्क्ष्यसि
maccittaḥ sarvadurgāṇi matprasādāt tariṣyasi | atha cet tvam ahaṃkārān na śroṣyasi vinaṅkṣyasi ||
With your mind fixed on Me, you will cross over all hardships and perilous obstacles by My grace. But if, out of ego, you refuse to heed this counsel, you will come to ruin.

Steady inner orientation toward the divine (maccittaḥ) enables one to overcome even severe obstacles through grace; but ego (ahaṃkāra) that refuses instruction leads to downfall. The ethical emphasis is humility, receptivity to right counsel, and disciplined devotion rather than self-will.
In the Bhīṣma Parva dialogue context, Kṛṣṇa addresses Arjuna with a decisive warning: if Arjuna keeps his mind aligned with Kṛṣṇa’s guidance, he will pass through the dangers of the war and its moral trials; if he rejects the counsel out of pride, he will meet ruin.
