Arjuna said: Know that knowledge to be sāttvika by which one perceives, in all beings, a single imperishable Reality—undivided though appearing among divided forms. Such vision sees the same abiding Self in every creature and thereby grounds conduct in fairness, restraint, and reverence even amid the pressures of war.

Sāttvika knowledge is the insight that the same imperishable, undivided Reality is present in all beings, even though beings appear separate. This vision supports ethical impartiality, compassion, and steadiness of mind.
In the Kurukṣetra dialogue, Arjuna asks about the threefold division of knowledge according to the guṇas. This verse states the mark of sāttvika knowledge: perceiving one undivided Self/Reality in all differentiated beings.
