सम्बन्ध--इस प्रकार तीन श्लोकोंमें बार-बार अपना अद्भुत रूप देखनेके लिये आज्ञा देनेपर भी जब अर्जुन भगवान्‌के रूपको नहीं देख सके; तब उसके न देख सकनेके कारणको जाननेवाले अन्तयमी भगवान्‌ अजुनिको दिव्य दृष्टि देनेकी इच्छा करके कहने लगे-- नतु मां शक्‍्यसे द्रष्टमनेनैव स्वचक्षुषा । दिव्यं ददामि ते चक्षु: पश्य मे योगमैश्वरम्‌,परंतु मुझको तू इन अपने प्राकृत नेत्रोंद्वारा देखनेमें नि:संदेह समर्थ नहीं है; इसीसे मैं तुझे दिव्य अर्थात्‌ अलौकिक चक्षु देता हूँ, उससे तू मेरी ईश्वरीय योगशक्तिको देख

arjuna uvāca | na tu māṁ śakyase draṣṭum anenaiva svacakṣuṣā | divyaṁ dadāmi te cakṣuḥ paśya me yogam aiśvaram ||

Arjuna said: “Yet you cannot see Me with these very ordinary eyes of yours. Therefore I grant you a divine vision—behold My sovereign, divine power of yoga.”

Educational Q&A

Direct perception of the Supreme is not attainable through ordinary sensory faculties; it requires divine enablement (grace) and an elevated mode of seeing. The verse frames revelation as a gift, not merely an achievement.

After Arjuna repeatedly asks to behold the Lord’s extraordinary form, the Lord explains that Arjuna’s natural eyes cannot bear or grasp it. He therefore grants Arjuna a divine vision so that the forthcoming cosmic manifestation can be seen.
