Arjuna said: The supreme state that is attained by the followers of Sāṅkhya is also reached by the practitioners of Yoga. He alone truly sees who recognizes Sāṅkhya (the path of discerning knowledge) and Yoga (the path of disciplined action) as one in their essential result.
अर्जुन उवाच
Both the path of discriminative knowledge (Sāṅkhya/jñāna) and the path of disciplined action (Yoga/karma-yoga) lead to the same highest attainment; true insight is to see their essential unity in purpose and result.
In the Kurukṣetra dialogue, Arjuna is clarifying the relationship between renunciation/knowledge and action. This verse frames the issue by asserting that the ultimate goal is not divided by method: whether one emphasizes insight or selfless action, the destination is the same.
