भीष्मस्य अप्रतिमपराक्रमः — शिखण्डिपुरस्कृतः प्रहारः

Bhīṣma’s unmatched momentum and the assault with Śikhaṇḍin in the lead

न चापि भीस्त्वया कार्या भीष्मादद्य कथंचन | अहमेनं शरैस्तीक्ष्गै: पातयिष्ये रथोत्तमात्‌,संजय कहते हैं--राजन! रणभूमिमें भीष्मका पराक्रम देखकर अर्जुनने शिखण्डीसे कहा--“वीर! तुम पितामहका सामना करनेके लिये आगे बढ़ो। आज भीष्मजीसे तुम्हें किसी प्रकार भय नहीं करना चाहिये। मैं स्वयं अपने पैने बाणोंद्वारा इनको उत्तम रथसे मार गिराऊँगा”

Transliteration

na cāpi bhīs tvayā kāryā bhīṣmād adya kathaṃcana | aham enaṃ śarais tīkṣṇaiḥ pātayiṣye rathottamāt |

Translation

Sanjaya said: “O King, you should not feel any fear of Bhishma today in any way. I shall strike him with my sharp arrows and bring him down from his excellent chariot.”
