भीष्मस्य अप्रतिमपराक्रमः — शिखण्डिपुरस्कृतः प्रहारः
Bhīṣma’s unmatched momentum and the assault with Śikhaṇḍin in the lead
इस प्रकार श्रीमह्याभारत भीष्मपर्वके अन्तर्गत भीष्मवधपर्वमें भीष्म-दुर्योधन-संवादविषयक एक सौ नवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ ॥/ १०९ ॥। ऑपन--#ह< बछ। ] अत्ऑकशाएड दशाधिकशततमो< ध्याय: अर्जुनके प्रोत्साहनसे शिखण्डीका भीष्मपर आक्रमण और दोनों सेनाओंके प्रमुख वीरोंका परस्पर युद्ध तथा दुःशासनका अर्जुनके साथ घोर युद्ध संजय उवाच अर्जुनस्तु रणे राजन् दृष्टवा भीष्मस्य विक्रमम् । शिखण्डिनमथोवाच सम भ्येहि पितामहम्,संजय कहते हैं--राजन! रणभूमिमें भीष्मका पराक्रम देखकर अर्जुनने शिखण्डीसे कहा--“वीर! तुम पितामहका सामना करनेके लिये आगे बढ़ो। आज भीष्मजीसे तुम्हें किसी प्रकार भय नहीं करना चाहिये। मैं स्वयं अपने पैने बाणोंद्वारा इनको उत्तम रथसे मार गिराऊँगा”
sañjaya uvāca | arjunas tu raṇe rājan dṛṣṭvā bhīṣmasya vikramam | śikhaṇḍinam athovāca samabhyehi pitāmaham ||
Sanjaya said: O King, seeing Bhishma’s formidable prowess on the battlefield, Arjuna spoke to Shikhandin: “Advance and confront the Grandsire.”
