भीष्मपर्व — अध्याय ११०: पार्थभीमयोः प्रहारः तथा भीष्माभिमुखं संग्रामविस्तारः
Arjuna and Bhima’s pressure; escalation toward Bhishma
उवाच राजा दीनात्मा प्रीतियुक्तमिदं वच: । गंगानन्दन भीष्म जब बारंबार इस प्रकार प्रसन्नता-पूर्वक कह रहे थे, उस समय राजा युधिष्ठटिरने दीन हृदयसे प्रेमपूर्वक यह बात कही-- || ६१ ई ।। कथं जयेम सर्वज्ञ कथं राज्यं लभेमहि,'सर्वज्ञ! युद्धमें हमारी जीत कैसे हो? हम किस प्रकार राज्य प्राप्त करें?
sañjaya uvāca | uvāca rājā dīnātmā prītiyuktam idaṁ vacaḥ | gaṅgānandana bhīṣma yadā bāraṁbāram evaṁ prakāraṁ prasannatā-pūrvakaṁ vadati sma, tadā rājā yudhiṣṭhiraḥ dīna-hṛdayena prītyā idaṁ vacaḥ uvāca— kathaṁ jayema sarvajña, kathaṁ rājyaṁ labhemahi |
Sanjaya said: When Bhishma, the son of the Ganga, was repeatedly speaking in this manner with a pleased and gracious spirit, King Yudhishthira—his heart weighed down with distress yet filled with reverence—addressed him affectionately: “O all-knowing one, how may we win this war, and how may we regain the kingdom?”
