“Therefore, let us all go together at once to Bhīṣma, the best of men among the Kurus. Without delay, O Vārṣṇeya—O joy of the Vṛṣṇis—let us seek counsel from him.”
युधिछिर उवाच
In moments of crisis, dharmic leadership seeks timely counsel from qualified elders and experts. The verse emphasizes unity (“together”) and urgency (“without delay”) in pursuing wise guidance rather than acting from impulse.
Yudhiṣṭhira proposes that everyone go together immediately to Bhīṣma, the foremost Kuru elder, and ask him for counsel. He addresses Kṛṣṇa with honorific epithets, indicating Kṛṣṇa’s presence and the importance of coordinated decision-making before further action.
