भीमसेनस्य बहुमहारथसंयुगः

Bhīmasena’s Engagement with Multiple Mahārathas

नासज्जन्त तनुत्रेषु भीष्मचापच्युता: शरा: । हतवीरान्‌ रथात्‌ राजन्‌ संयुक्ताञ्जवनैर्हयै:

sañjaya uvāca

nāsajjanta tanutreṣu bhīṣma-cāpa-cyutāḥ śarāḥ | hatavīrān rathāt rājan saṃyuktān javanair hayaiḥ ||

Sañjaya said: O King, the arrows released from Bhīṣma’s bow did not lodge in the warriors’ armor; instead, they struck with such force that they brought down the chariots—swiftly drawn by fast horses—after their champions had been slain. The scene underscores the grim momentum of battle, where prowess and fate combine to strip even well-protected fighters of security.
