Then all those brāhmaṇas, delighted at heart, departed for their homes. The wise Dharmarāja (Yudhiṣṭhira), by means of that wealth, had fully satisfied and gratified them—thus completing his duty of generous giving in a manner consonant with dharma.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
A righteous king upholds dharma through dāna: giving wealth in a way that genuinely satisfies the recipients, especially learned brāhmaṇas, is portrayed as a concrete expression of ethical governance and social responsibility.
After receiving gifts/wealth, the brāhmaṇas are pleased and return to their homes; the narrator emphasizes that Dharmarāja Yudhiṣṭhira, being wise, has fully gratified them through his generous distribution.
