Arjuna said: “To show me favor, please enter your own city. O knower of dharma, come together with your two wives; do not entertain any hesitation or second thoughts about this matter.”
अर्जुन उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic hospitality and respectful persuasion: Arjuna requests a respected person to accept honor publicly—entering the city with both wives—without hesitation, framing the act as a gracious favor (anugraha) that strengthens social harmony and proper conduct.
Arjuna addresses a dharma-knowing figure and urges him to enter his own city accompanied by his two wives. Arjuna presents this as a personal favor and asks him not to doubt or overthink the propriety of the request.
