“Go there and, having approached the great Lord of Yoga, Śiva, bow to him, O royal sage, with the highest devotion. Having offered homage to that Blessed One—saying, ‘Salutations to Śarva, to the Creator’—praise that deity, the bearer of all knowledge, by these names.”
संवर्त उवाच
Approach the divine with humility and wholehearted devotion: ethical action is strengthened when one first bows, offers reverence, and praises the Lord through sacred names, acknowledging Śiva as both yogic master and cosmic ordainer.
Saṃvarta instructs a royal sage to go to Śiva, respectfully approach him, offer prostration with supreme devotion, and then recite a hymn of praise using specific epithets such as Śarva and Vedhas.
