सो<वर्धत यथाकालं पिता तव जनाधिप
so ’vardhata yathākālaṃ pitā tava janādhipa
Vaiśaṃpāyana said: “In due course, O king, your father grew and prospered as time ordained.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores the Mahābhārata’s recurring idea that growth and success unfold in alignment with kāla (right time). Prosperity is not merely personal effort but also the maturation of circumstances, encouraging patience and steadiness in dharma.
Vaiśaṃpāyana continues the narration by briefly noting that the king’s father advanced and flourished over time, setting background for the ensuing account of lineage and events in the Aśvamedhika context.
