Thus ends the sixty-sixth chapter of the Anugītā section within the Aśvamedhika Parva of the revered Mahābhārata, dealing with the account of Parīkṣit’s birth. The narrator marks the completion of this unit, framing the episode as a significant continuation of dharma after the war—where lineage, responsibility, and the restoration of righteous order are reaffirmed through the arrival of the next heir.

As a colophon, the verse does not teach a doctrine directly; it emphasizes textual and ethical framing: the narrative of Parīkṣit’s birth is presented as part of re-establishing dharma after devastation, highlighting continuity of rightful rule and responsibility across generations.
The narrator (Vaiśampāyana) signals the end of a chapter: the sixty-sixth chapter of the Anugītā section within the Aśvamedhika Parva, whose subject is the description of Parīkṣit’s birth.
