Subhadrā’s Petition to Kṛṣṇa for the Revival of Parīkṣit (अभिमन्युज-प्राणरक्षा-प्रार्थना)
यदुप्रवीर यो<यं ते स्वस्नीयस्यात्मज: प्रभो । अश्वत्थाम्ना हतो जातस्तमुज्जीवय केशव,“यदुवीर! प्रभो! यह जो तुम्हारे भानजे अभिमन्युका बालक है, अभश्वत्थामाके अस्त्रसे मरा हुआ ही उत्पन्न हुआ है। केशव! इसे जीवन-दान दो
yadupravīra yo 'yaṃ te svasnīyasya ātmajaḥ prabho | aśvatthāmnā hataḥ jātas tam ujjīvaya keśava ||
Vaiśampāyana said: “O foremost hero of the Yadus, O Lord—this child, the son of your sister’s son, has been born already slain by Aśvatthāman’s weapon. O Keśava, restore him to life.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even after war’s devastation, dharma expresses itself as protection of the innocent and the continuity of rightful lineage; the appeal to Keśava highlights reliance on divine power to heal what human violence has shattered.
The narrator reports an urgent plea to Kṛṣṇa: a child related through a nephew has been born dead due to Aśvatthāman’s weapon, and Kṛṣṇa is asked to revive the child.
