सरांसि सरितश्नैव वनान्युपवनानि च । अत्यक्रामन्महाराजो गिरिं चाप्यन्वपद्यत
sarāṃsi saritaś caiva vanāny upavanāni ca | atyakrāman mahārājo giriṃ cāpy anvapadyata ||
Vaiśampāyana said: The great king pressed onward, crossing lakes and rivers, passing through forests and groves; and he also proceeded along the mountain route—moving steadily ahead in his royal progress.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights steadfastness and disciplined forward movement in a king’s duty: he continues his appointed course despite varied terrains, suggesting that righteous undertakings require endurance and orderly progress.
Vaiśampāyana describes the great king’s onward journey: he traverses lakes, rivers, forests, and groves, and then continues along/through a mountainous region as part of the unfolding events in the Aśvamedhika Parva.
