Thus, in the Śrī Mahābhārata, within the Āśvamedhika Parva, the sixty-first chapter of the Anugītā section—concerning the consolation of Vasudeva—comes to an end. The closing note signals a transition: the teaching and reassurance offered to Vasudeva is complete, reaffirming steadiness of mind and dharmic endurance after suffering.

Educational Q&A

As a chapter-colophon, the verse itself does not add new doctrine; it frames the completed discourse as ‘Vasudeva’s consolation,’ highlighting the ethical aim of restoring composure, clarity, and dharmic steadiness after distress.

Vaiśampāyana marks the end of the sixty-first chapter within the Anugītā section of the Āśvamedhika Parva, indicating that the portion dealing with consoling Vasudeva has concluded and the text is moving onward.
