एतत् सर्वमहं सम्यगाचरिष्ये जनार्दन । “सारा जगत् आपमें ही ओत-प्रोत है। एकमात्र आप ही मनुष्योंके अधीश्वर हैं। निष्पाप जनार्दन! आपने मुझपर कृपा करके जो यह उपदेश दिया है, उसका मैं यथावत् पालन करूँगा
etad sarvam ahaṃ samyag ācarīṣye janārdana | sāraṃ jagat tvayi eva ota-protaṃ | ekamātraḥ tvam eva manuṣyāṇām adhīśvaraḥ | niṣpāpa janārdana! tvayā mayi kṛpāṃ kṛtvā yo 'yaṃ upadeśaḥ dattaḥ, tasya ahaṃ yathāvat pālanaṃ kariṣyāmi ||
“All this I shall carry out rightly, O Janārdana. The whole world is woven into you alone; you alone are the sovereign Lord of humankind. Sinless Janārdana, out of compassion you have given me this instruction; I will follow it exactly as taught.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
