Adhyāya 51: Kṛṣṇa’s Leave-Taking and Departure for Dvārakā (द्वारकागमनानुमति)
pūrvam apy etad evoktaṃ yuddhakāla upasthite | mayā tava mahābāho tasmād atra manaḥ kuru ||
O mighty-armed one, I had already spoken this very counsel to you earlier, when the time of battle had arrived. Therefore, fix your mind upon this teaching now—take it to heart and act with steadiness.
वायुदेव उवाच
The core teaching is to internalize and focus the mind on previously given righteous counsel, especially when decisive action is required; steadiness of mind and adherence to guidance are emphasized in the pressure of conflict.
Vāyudeva addresses a heroic figure (‘mahābāhu’), reminding him that the same instruction was given earlier when battle was imminent, and urges him to concentrate on it now—indicating a moment of renewed exhortation and moral reinforcement.
