Adhyāya 51: Kṛṣṇa’s Leave-Taking and Departure for Dvārakā (द्वारकागमनानुमति)
gatir eṣā tu muktānāṃ ye jñāna-pariniṣṭhitāḥ | pravṛttayaś ca yāḥ sarvāḥ paśyanti pariṇāmajāḥ ||
Vāyu said: “This indeed is the highest course of those who are liberated—those firmly established in true knowledge. They behold all worldly impulses and undertakings as effects that ripen into consequences, understanding them as sources of auspicious and inauspicious results; thus they remain inwardly free even while living and acting.”
वायुदेव उवाच
Liberated, knowledge-established sages perceive all actions and impulses as consequence-bearing processes (ripening into results). This clear discernment prevents attachment and keeps them inwardly free, even amid activity.
Vāyudeva is instructing the listener about the defining vision of the liberated: they interpret worldly engagements through the lens of cause-and-result (auspicious/inauspicious fruition), indicating the standpoint of a jñāna-niṣṭha, living-liberated great soul.
