Adhyāya 51: Kṛṣṇa’s Leave-Taking and Departure for Dvārakā (द्वारकागमनानुमति)

विश्वसृग्भ्यस्तु भूते भ्यो महा भूतास्तु सर्वश: । भूतेभ्यश्चापि पञ्चभ्यो मुक्तो गच्छेत्‌ परां गतिम्‌,इस विश्वकी रचना करनेवाले प्राणियोंसे पडच महाभूत सब प्रकार पर है। जो इन पठ्च महाभूतोंसे छूट जाता है, वह परम गतिको प्राप्त होता है

viśvasṛgbhyas tu bhūtebhyo mahābhūtāstu sarvaśaḥ | bhūtebhyaś cāpi pañcabhyo mukto gacchet parāṃ gatim ||

Vāyu said: From the created beings that fashion the world arise, in every way, the great elements. But one who becomes free from the five elements as well—who is no longer bound by their conditioning—attains the highest state. The teaching points beyond mere cosmology to liberation: ethical and spiritual discipline culminate in detachment from elemental, embodied identity and in realization of the supreme goal.
