वैशम्पायन उवाच
A freely made agreement (samaya) carries moral force: once terms are accepted, one should act consistently with the pledged intention (saṅkalpa). The verse highlights integrity in commitments and the orderly unfolding of consequences from agreed conditions.
After settling terms with Gaṅgā, the Vasus leave together, pleased and confident, moving directly according to their plan—signaling that the compact has been concluded and the next events will follow from that agreement.
