Vaiśampāyana said: Duryodhana, given to sinful conduct and having adopted a demonic cast of mind, remained determined to uproot the Pāṇḍavas by many stratagems. Yet what is destined to occur comes to pass; therefore he and his party were not able to destroy them.

Educational Q&A

Adharma-driven schemes, even when pursued with determination, are ultimately checked by the moral order and by what is destined to unfold; wicked intent does not guarantee success.

The narrator describes Duryodhana’s persistent attempts to eliminate the Pāṇḍavas through various stratagems, but notes that these efforts fail because the destined outcome prevails.
