Vaiśampāyana said: Even as a mere child—yet radiant like a divine being—the boy quickly grew in strength. While still only six years old, he would seize lions, tigers, boars, buffaloes, and even elephants, drag them to Kaṇva’s hermitage, and bind them to trees near the āśrama. The episode underscores an extraordinary, almost superhuman vigor that inspires awe, while also hinting at the need for such power to be guided by restraint and dharma within the disciplined space of the hermitage.
