Vaiśampāyana said: The hermitage was adorned by learned Yajurvedic priests, well-versed in the science of sacrifice and its subsidiary disciplines. There, sages of disciplined vows sang the Sāman hymns in sweet melodies, enhancing the sanctity and beauty of the āśrama through regulated conduct and Vedic recitation.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights that true spiritual splendor arises from disciplined conduct (niyata-vrata) and correct sacred learning—especially the proper knowledge of yajña and reverent Vedic recitation—showing dharma as lived practice rather than mere display.

Vaiśampāyana describes a hermitage scene: Yajurvedic experts versed in sacrificial procedure and sages of strict observance sing melodious Sāmaveda hymns, collectively beautifying and sanctifying the āśrama.
