Vaiśampāyana said: Born and increased in accordance with dharma, and endowed with very long life, those descendants flourished. Thereafter, O King, all four social orders became established again in the world, with the Brāhmaṇas holding the foremost place. (In context: Kṣatriya women conceived by ascetic Brāhmaṇas and gave birth to exceptionally strong sons and daughters, thereby restoring and strengthening the Kṣatriya line in a dharmic manner.)
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse frames social and dynastic restoration as legitimate only when aligned with dharma: progeny and political strength are praised when produced through righteous means, and the stability of society is depicted as the re-establishment of all four varṇas with ethical hierarchy and responsibility.
Vaiśampāyana describes how, after a disruption in the Kṣatriya line, Kṣatriya women bore children through ascetic Brāhmaṇas; these children were powerful and long-lived, leading to the renewed growth of the Kṣatriyas and the re-establishment of the four varṇas in the world, with Brāhmaṇas again occupying the foremost position.
