Vaiśampāyana said: “Thus, for the renewed increase of the Kṣatriya line, those ascetic Brāhmaṇas begot sons and daughters through Kṣatriya women. In this way, in accordance with dharma, Kṣatriya offspring were generated and the royal order was restored and strengthened. Those children were long-lived; and thereafter, in the world, the four varṇas again became firmly established with Brāhmaṇas in the leading role.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse frames social continuity as a dharmic responsibility: when the Kṣatriya line needs renewal, ascetic Brāhmaṇas—guided by restraint and duty—can help restore the royal order, leading to stability of the four-varṇa system.
Vaiśampāyana describes how Kṣatriya women conceived through tapasvin Brāhmaṇas and gave birth to strong sons and daughters, thereby replenishing Kṣatriya families; the offspring are said to be long-lived, and social order (the four varṇas) becomes re-established.
