Duḥṣantasya Vana-praveśaḥ

King Duḥṣanta’s Entry into the Forest Hunt

“When we are being watched by these people, how could our meeting be possible?” Thus addressed, the mighty sage Parāśara—master of spiritual power—created a veil of mist, removing the obstacle of public scrutiny and enabling the encounter to proceed in secrecy.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how social visibility and propriety can become ethical constraints, and how extraordinary power is used to remove practical obstacles; it also invites reflection on secrecy, accountability, and the moral weight of actions done away from public view.

A woman objects that their union cannot occur because others are watching. In response, the sage Parāśara uses his spiritual power to generate a fog, concealing them from onlookers.
