King Duḥṣanta’s Entry into the Forest Hunt
तस्या: शक्रस्य पूजार्थ भूमौ भूमिपतिस्तदा । प्रवेशं कारयामास गते संवत्सरे तदा,तदनन्तर एक वर्ष बीतनेपर भूपाल वसुने इन्द्रकी पूजाके लिये उस छड़ीको भूमिमें गाड़ दिया
tasyāḥ śakrasya pūjārthaṃ bhūmau bhūmipatistadā | praveśaṃ kārayāmāsa gate saṃvatsare tadā ||
Then, when a year had passed, King Vasu, the lord of the land, had it set into the earth as an installation, intending it for the worship of Śakra (Indra). The act reflects a ruler’s duty to uphold public rites and honor the gods, linking kingship with responsibility for sacred order and communal well-being.
