Duḥṣantasya Vana-praveśaḥ
King Duḥṣanta’s Entry into the Forest Hunt
प्रतिविन्ध्यो युधिष्ठिरात् सुतसोमो वृकोदरात् । अर्जुनाच्छुतकीर्तिस्तु शतानीकस्तु नाकुलि:,युधिष्ठिरसे प्रतिविन्ध्य, भीमसेनसे सुतसोम, अर्जुनसे श्रुतकीर्ति, नकुलसे शतानीक तथा सहदेवसे प्रतापी श्रुतसेनका जन्म हुआ था। भीमसेनके द्वारा हिडिम्बासे वनमें घटोत्कच नामक पुत्र उत्पन्न हुआ
prativindhyo yudhiṣṭhirāt sutasomo vṛkodarāt | arjunāc chrutakīrtis tu śatānīkas tu nākuliḥ |
Daśa said: From Yudhiṣṭhira was born Prativindhya; from Vṛkodara (Bhīma) was born Sutasoma; from Arjuna was born Śrutakīrti; and from Nakula was born Śatānīka. (In the same lineage-account, Sahadeva’s son is named Śrutasena.) The passage continues the genealogical narration of the Pāṇḍavas’ sons, underscoring the continuity of dharma through rightful progeny and the preservation of the Kuru line even amid impending conflict.
