ब्रह्मोवाच जरत्कारुर्जरत्कारुं यां भार्या समवाप्स्यति । तत्र जातो द्विज:ः शापान्मोक्षयिष्यति पन्नगान्,ब्रह्माजीने कहा--जरत्कारु मुनि जरत्कारु नामवाली जिस पत्नीको ग्रहण करेंगे, उसके गर्भसे उत्पन्न ब्राह्मण सर्पोंको माताके शापसे मुक्त करेगा
brahmovāca jaratkārur jaratkāruṁ yāṁ bhāryā samavāpsyati | tatra jāto dvijaḥ śāpān mokṣayiṣyati pannagān ||
Brahmā said: “The sage Jaratkāru will obtain a wife named Jaratkāru. From her will be born a twice-born son who will release the serpents from their mother’s curse.” In the narrative, this prophecy frames marriage and progeny as a dharmic responsibility undertaken not for personal pleasure but for the welfare and liberation of an afflicted community.
