Jaratkāru’s Marital Compact and Departure (जरत्कारु–जरत्कारुणी संवादः)
ततो यशः प्रदीप्तं ते त्रिषु लोकेषु विश्रुतम् निरंशुरिव घर्माशुरन्तर्धानमितो व्रजेत्,“यदि तुम सफल न हुए तो तीनों लोकोंमें विख्यात एवं प्रकाशित तुम्हारा यश किरणरहित सूर्यके समान इस लोकसे अदृश्य हो जायगा”
tato yaśaḥ pradīptaṃ te triṣu lokeṣu viśrutam niraṃśur iva gharmāśur antardhānam ito vrajet
Kāśyapa said: “Otherwise, the fame of yours—now blazing and renowned across the three worlds—will fade from this realm and vanish, like the sun’s heat when it is without rays.” The warning frames success as a dharmic responsibility: one’s earned renown is sustained by steadfast effort, and failure in one’s appointed undertaking causes even celebrated merit to disappear from public memory and moral standing.
